“If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder,” says Obama, who grew up on Seventies R&B and rock staples including Earth, Wind and Fire, Elton John and the Rolling Stones. “When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness’ First Finale and Innervisions, and then Songs in the Key of Life. Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we’ve ever seen.

“Wonder shares room on Obama’s iPod with “everything from Howlin’ Wolf to Yo-Yo Ma to Sheryl Crow,” he says. “And I have probably 30 Dylan songs on my iPod.” Though he’s partial to 1975’s Blood on the Tracks, “Maggie’s Farm” is “one of my favorites during the political season,” says Obama. “It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric.”

The Hammer of the Gods is now currently striking music lovers directly in the eardrums, soul, and heart, everywhere there is an AMI jukebox. The Mothership has landed so-to-speak. The Levee is currently Breaking. “Oooooh Baby Baby” is being heard in joints across the map, and that’s the way it should always be. The primal sounds of Zeppelin, arguably the band who kicks you directly in the gut with most ease. The quartet had the thump, the monster riffs to topple buildings, the bushy hair, the grit, the scream, the tight pants, the able bass player, the blues, the metal, the groupies, the sought-after merchandise, the live shows….kapow! Zeppelin is an essential jukebox band.

There was a big cultural hole that is now filled. It wasn’t completely right without them. Imagine the 21 year old going out on his big night, and he gets turned on to that one Zeppelin song that completely changed his outlook on love, life, social circles etc. If only we could have been a part of the launch that included Itunes last November, but that’s another story, and we aren’t going to gripe about the past. The bands legacy is being watched closely…as it should be. This is a band that has songs that reach out and demand things of you that you may have not been aware of. Am I gushing just a little??? The answer is an unapologetic yes. The band has songs upon songs. We will be celebrating their launch on the network for the next couple months. Like Michael Bolton’s music as discussed in  the movie Office Space, we are going to celebrate the whole Zeppelin catalog. Look for some fun stuff happening…in…the…future!
 
Want a little more Pop culture?? There is an AMI jukebox on the back cover of the Zeppelin album “In Through The Out Door”!! We are linked with the band forever in rock immortality. How many people can say that?!!? The lonely guy smoking the Lucky Strikes is no doubt washing a lady off his mind while playing some therapeutic tunes on the AMI juke behind him. Not to boast all that much, but it is reallllllllly fricking cool to catch these little details.
 
“Ooooooooooooo-Yeah-ay-yeeeeah!”

The Dandy Warhols’ new album, “Earth To The Dandy Warhols,” was released on AMI Entertainment Network, which delivers music to more than 10,000 jukeboxes around the country. AMI-powered jukeboxes began pumping out “Earth’s” 14 tracks back on May 5, almost three months before the album hit retail stores.

AMI Entertainment, The Dandy Warhols and the band’s newly minted label, Beat The World Records, celebrated with listening parties across the nation.

The band¹s Peter Holmström and Brent De Boar were on hand, and keyboardist Zia McCabe played DJ at the San Francisco listening party. Partygoers were also entertained by a Rowe touchscreen jukebox playing The Dandy’s new album in its entirety, while prominently featuring the band in onscreen
promotional loops.

It is a piece of cake to put out the new album from rap artist and hip-hop producer Kanye West­ the kids will play that no matter what! The Dandy Warhols are a rad band, however, and deserve a little face time with our customers. Jukebox people like to drink, and they like guitars, and The
Dandy¹s cater to both of those interests.

In the ’90s you were hard pressed to find a rock band with a bigger sound than UK¹s the Verve. After an 11 year hiatus, the band storms back into public view, via an exciting new album called Forth (Red). AMI Entertainment, leading content provider for more than 11,000 digital jukeboxes, helped celebrate the comeback by making the new album available to bar patrons August 12, two full weeks before the August 26 street date. There was also listening events for the album in New York City, and in AMI’s hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan (August 13th).

Fans got the chance to hear the album in its entirety at Spring Lounge in New York City and at Jukes Bar in Grand Rapids. Not only did the attendees of these listening parties get to hear the album before its street date, they had the chance to win prizes including Verve posters, copies of the new
Forth CD and even a special boxed set.
